Business 2000: 13th Edition

12th Editon CoverWelcome to the 13th edition of Business 2000. We are once again indebted to all the organisations that have generously shared with us both their time and experience in bringing these business case studies together.

The focus of The Sunday Business Post Business 2000 is to illustrate key areas of the curriculum by using up-to-date business examples coming from organisations operating on the island of Ireland. By experiencing how organisations manage their business and deal with everyday issues, students can gain a greater understanding of the realities of the world of business. These case studies can then be used as real examples to underpin their understanding of the various learning points in the curricula.

Your Multimedia Resource

Together with the printed A4 resource pack, we also deliver multiple copies of the CD to each school. These CDs can be installed on the school's computer server and be copied for use by individual students.

The website www.business2000.ie has been extensively developed in the last year. Students can now use the new e-learning modules which have been completed for the Business and Economics syllabi and the LCVP. These revision quizzes, available online and on this CD, are an interesting and enjoyable way for the students to revise in class or at home.

The Archive and Resources sections of the website include past examination papers, syllabus guide, learning outcomes and useful links. All the case studies produced over the last 13 years are archived at www.business2000.ie and can be searched by curriculum topic and by organisational name.

We hope that you enjoy using the resource this year and as always we would welcome any feedback or suggestions. We look forward to meeting and speaking with many of you during the year.

Our thanks

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the companies who have shared with us their business experiences and who continue to make this resource an invaluable teaching and learning tool.

We would also like to thank our team, designers and developers who have worked so diligently to make this edition so relevant and appealing.

We will continue to build on the success of Business 2000 and to develop exciting and innovative classroom resources.
